Why Use This Noise Reduction Tool?
- Full-resolution output – noise reduction is applied to the original image size, not a downscaled preview.
- HEIC support – iPhone photos in HEIC/HEIF format are automatically converted before editing.
- Multiple formats – save as JPEG, PNG, or WebP with adjustable quality for JPEG and WebP.
- Works entirely in your browser – your photos are never uploaded to any server.

Common Causes of Photo Noise
Digital noise appears as random speckles or grain in a photo, and is usually caused by one of the following:
- High ISO settings – shooting in low light forces the camera to amplify the sensor signal, introducing noise.
- Small camera sensors – smartphone and compact camera sensors are more prone to noise than larger DSLR sensors.
- Long exposures – heat buildup in the sensor during long exposures can create thermal noise.
- High compression – heavily compressed JPEG files can develop artifact patterns that resemble noise.
- Scanned film or prints – film grain and dust picked up during scanning adds a textured noise layer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, the tool is 100% free with no usage limits. You do not need to create an account or provide any payment information.
No. All processing happens entirely inside your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your image is never sent to any server, so your privacy is fully protected.
Yes. HEIC and HEIF files (the default format on modern iPhones) are automatically converted to JPEG in your browser before editing. A loading indicator is shown during conversion.
Yes. Noise reduction is applied to an off-screen canvas at the original image dimensions, so the downloaded file has the same pixel width and height as the photo you uploaded.
Yes. Use the format dropdown above the Save button to choose JPEG, PNG, or WebP. For JPEG and WebP you can also expand the quality setting (the gear icon) to control the compression level from 1% to 100%.
For subtle grain removal, a value between 20%–40% usually gives a natural result. For heavily noisy low-light shots, try 60%–80%. At 100% the maximum smoothing is applied, which works well for very noisy images but may soften fine details slightly. Use the View Original toggle to compare before and after.
